Detriot Tiger vs. New York Yankees
Today was s good way to start off the season. Today the Yankees jumped all over the Detroit right hander, Justin Verlander. Mark Teixiera a player who usually starts the season of slowly wanted to make a change this year and he did he started his season off with a BANG! He hit a three run HR. Another unexpected event was an era by Robinson Cano he almost never makes a mistake. Curtis Granderson had a great game too. Even though he played with a right oblique strain (abdominal muscle), he did outstanding with a solo HR, a over the shoulder catch and a diving catch. CC Sabathia pitched 6 innings and only gave up 3 runs so Joba Chamberlain got the win and Mariano got the save. For the Tigers Brandon Inge hit a double and got and RBI off CC, Miguel Cabrera and Johnny Peralta had RBI's too.

Another play the third when nobody scored but David Wright made an tough play on a ground by the line. In the fifth the Mets scored again Reyes hits a single, then he steals second base and then Thole brought him in with another RBI single. In the eighth Jason Heyward hit a HR to center field. This is not a usual sports review but this does have to do with sports. Today the president of baseball, Gary Toebben, has taken over the Los Angles Dodgers because the owner(s) got divorced and the judge granted the husband and wife equal control over the Dodgers. There was argument over that statement so until it all settles down Toebben is in control of the Dodgers.

Washington Nationals vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Today two teams that has extremely similar records St. Louis Cardinals, 9-9, vs Washington Nationals 9-8. But today it was all the team with the lower winning percentage, St. Louis. The Cardinals shut the Nationals out and the starting pitcher for St. Louis went ALL nine innings. Let's start from the beginning Albert Pujols walked with two outs and the following hitter, Matt Holiday, sent the third pitch he saw into the left field bleachers. No one crossed the plate again until the eighth inning where Pujols hit a two run HR with Colby Rasmus on base. After that Holiday walked and David Freese hit a double in the right field gap. And in the ninth Kyle Lohse rapped up the game for St. Louis. The final score was 5-0. Lohse got the win with 9 innings pitched, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts but on the other side for Washington, Tom Gorzelanny, got the fat L with 5 innings, 4 walks, and 3 strikeouts.

Los Angles Dodgers vs. Florida Marlins
Earlier this on this fine day down in Florida the Marlins hosted the third game against the LA Dodgers of the three game series. The first innings were flawless for both pitchers, Chad Billingsley (LA) and Anibal Sanchez. But in the second Florida scored 4 runs off of Brett Hayes' base loaded single to left scoring Mike Stanton and then Chris Coghlan's 3 RBI double. Later in the fourth inning after Andre Ethier extends his hitting streak to 24 games and 2 other men get on, Rod Barajas hits a 3 run HR into the bleachers in left. Three innings later the Dodgers scored again to tie the game at four. First Aaron Miles singles to left, then Ivan De Jesus sac bunts him over to second, after that the pitcher, Ryan Webb, helped out LA by balking Miles over to third, and finally Juan Uribe doubled to left scoring Miles. In the top of the eighth LA threatened to score but could not do anything the Florida pitcher walked the bases loaded and then got a pop out and a double play ground ball. The game went into a tenth inning where Ethier hit a solo shot to right, 5-4 LA. Then in the bottom of the inning Matt Guerrier came in and closed the game out.
